San Ramon is taking fitness classes outside and online! Come Join in and get back into your fitness routine.  Classes will be socially spaced and participants will be asked to wear masks at all times.

Zumba® Toning blends the Zumba® Party you love at a slower pace with a redefining total body workout using maraca style Zumba® Toning sticks (or light hand weights) to shake up those muscles!  Benefits include a low to moderate intensity strength training exercises to help prevent a dramatic reduction in muscle mass.  Walk in ready to have a blast and tone up, leave exhilarated and empowered.

San Ramon’s FLEX Registration option

The Parks and Community Services Department is excited to announce the FLEX Registration option. This will allow you the flexibility to take a variety of fitness classes without having to register for a full session. Attend the classes you want when you want!

  • Participants can still register for the full session of a class or choose the drop-in Flex option.
  • FLEX Registration is ideal if your schedule fluctuates or you enjoy taking a variety of classes.

Flex Registration is easy. Each class that accepts Flex Registration has its own unique activity number. You can register online by finding the class name which will also have ‘FLEX’ in the title. You can access a calendar through online registration and pay for the dates you want to attend. You can pay for 1 class date per transaction OR pay for many classes at once.

Classes that utilize Flex Registration include: Ballet with Deb Saravia, Dance Fusion with Deb Saravia, Belly Dance Classes with Susanne (Tatseena) Dennis, Bombay Jam with Priya Vasudevan, Lunch Break Yoga with Susan Green and Tai Chi for Sport Recovery and Performance with Vincent Liu.

Adult Fitness classes offered and description:

New! Guided Meditation
Learn the art of mental & physical relaxation, mindful breathing and body awareness. Learn a skill and practice that calms the mind, relaxes and heals the body, cope with pain and day-to-day stress. Get connected with your inner-self, feel more peaceful, relaxed and happy. Release painful emotions and accelerate healing! Attending in-person meditation sessions, you can easily develop the meditation habit and achieve focus, clarity, and other magical results from your practice. 

T’ai Chi Ch’uan
This is a beginning class in part one of the classical, long Yang form. Continuing students can learn the entire long Yang form in addition to a fast form, two person sets and push hands. Students will also be eligible to participate in seminars held by Master Tung Kai Ying.

Pilates Morning
Pilates mat exercises develop a strong, lithe body and increase mind and body coordination. It also enhances a sense of being centered. Pilates increases flexibility reduces back pain, flattens your tummy, and strengthens your immune system. This is a great workout and lots of fun. Classes are open to all fitness levels.

Pilates Evening
Pilates is a system of exercises that focuses on the 'powerhouse' muscles; the core muscles of the torso, and the relationship between and abdominal and back muscles. These exercises can help alleviate should/neck stress, and low back and hip issues by adding both strength and flexibility to muscles and joints. You will experience better posture and well begin that will enhance your everyday function. Pilates is suitable for all levels of fitness. Judith has extensive experience in adapting exercises to suit your individual needs. Please bring a mat to class. Judy is a certified Pilates instructor with over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry. As a former professional dancer and massage therapist, she has extensive knowledge of the body and movement, and adaptive exercise to suit the individual needs of her students.

Pilates Barre Sculpt
Get ready to transform your body to longer, leaner, and stronger while enhancing flexibility and posture as we redefine our body image inside and out. This class incorporates Pilates & Barre exercises that engage your core while sculpting and lengthening your muscles multi-level class with focus on form and alignment: muscle intensity and calorie burning exercise in a non-impact format.

Introduction to Restorative Yoga
Come take a moment for yourself to learn how to quiet your mind and slip away from the world of multi-tasking, over-stimulation and overwork. Introduce yourself to the blissful and cumulative effects of Restorative Yoga. Relax the body, bring peace and calm to the mind, and fill the soul with delight and tranquility. In each class, gentle yogic stretches, Restorative Yoga postures, easy breath work and meditation will be used to bring deep relaxation to the body and quiet to the mind. No yoga experience is required. Dress warmly and in layers and please bring socks. Required for each class: Thick yoga mat, soft blanket, eye cover or eye pillow, yoga bolster or a large, rolled up sleeping bag, and a yoga strap.

Guided Meditation & Relaxation
Feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed? Come take a moment for yourself to learn how to quiet your mind and slip away from the world of multi-tasking, over-stimulation and overwork. Included will be simple breath work, guided meditation, soothing, calming, relaxation and gentle music. These tools, combined with expert guidance, will facilitate deep peace and relaxation. Methods will be included for home and office use. Attendees may expect to leave rested, serene and revitalized. Dress warmly and in layers, bring a thick yoga mat, eye cover, socks, and a blanket. No experience necessary. All levels welcome.

Bombay Jam
This program has a serious focus on integrating fun and fitness! Our custom music mixes are created with the hottest Bollywood tracks and some American Top 40 music, and will motivate the participants instantly. Bombay Jam® includes cardio and toning in one action-packed class. The choreography incorporates simple and easy-to-follow dance fitness moves and is full of Bollywood masala! Build endurance and develop long, lean muscle - participants will be burning calories and thrilled by all the Bombay flair! Just one class will leave the class energized and counting down till next Bombay Jam® class. Classes open to all fitness level.


Dance Fusion
This class is a fusion of ballet, jazz, contemporary and modern dance using fun motivating and inspiring music with the emphasis on teaching dance, getting a great workout and having fun.  Class is taught in a relaxed and fun environment by an experienced teacher, dancer and choreographer. Ballet
If you're searching for an adult Ballet class and/or looking to come back to dance this class is for you. Class emphasizes correct body alignment and proper use of turn out, and begins at the barre to build strength and coordination, followed by center exercises, culminating in a grand allegro combination.  Technique, vocabulary and exercises are explained to help student’s increase technical understanding, promote healthy physical development, and lifelong enjoyment. Belly Dance
Join us for a fun low impact dance class in a supportive environment improve self-esteem and vitality, gain flexibility, strength, learn technique, hip movements, traveling steps, finger cymbals, veils, along with a bit of the cultural history and new traditions currently popular in this expressive dance. Tatseena is an awarded dance master/ teacher known for her creative choreography.

Terence Tang (Tai Chi)

'Shifu (Teacher) Terence  has practiced Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi for over 10 years under renowned Master Tung Kai Ying. Shifu Tang began teaching Tai Chi since 2015, with emphasis on the health benefit of Tai Chi and assisted students in attaining better physical wellness. Shifu Tang uses the traditional "observe and follow" teaching methodology, while providing detail easy-to-understand explanation of the movement.'

Adrienne Lanigan (Yoga and Meditation)
Adrienne’s passion within the world of yoga is teaching Restorative Yoga and meditation. Being a Certified Yoga Instructor whose practice spans over 35 years, Adrienne first received CYT in 1998 from Mt. Madonna Center, in Classical Ashtanga (Raja) Yoga, which is based on traditional, slow, conscious asana movement coupled with the breath, before finding her calling after completing certification training in Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater, PT, CYT and PhD. Adrienne works with men and women (peri and post-menopausal women, busy young mothers, harried corporate executive, cancer patients, dancers and athletes) and all those who need to relieve stress levels, feel rested, ad naturally balance their bodies. Being a mother, grandmother, and cancer survivor, she is very empathetic to her students and cares deeply that they feel replenished, tranquil and rested after class. Adrienne also teaches Basic Pranayama and Introduction to Meditation workshops.

Priya Vasudevan (Bombay Jam)
At a very young age, Priya has always showed keen interest in dancing and Indian classical style of dancing. You can say she is a “professionally trained dancer “. Her passion for dancing never ceased and decided to do something about it. She is currently teaching a dance based fitness classes for the City of San Ramon and Dublin. Priya firmly believes in the class being fun for every one and you never know how much our body can do unless we push ourselves a little extra. Fitness is so important for both mind and soul. Besides dancing, she also teaches swimming, weight training, walking , running. When participants come to her class, they become a part of Bombay community which is more than just meeting and working out together. Priya believes that "Life is too beautiful to spent worrying and we have to let our negative thoughts go and hold on to the positive ones"

Judith Connaughton (Pilates)
Judith is an accredited member of American Counsel on Exercise with over 25 year’s of experience
in the health and fitness industry. Specialty Certifications include Pilates, Barre classes, Zumba and Aqua exercise. As a former professional dancer and massage therapist she has extensive knowledge of the body and functional movement. Her goal is to keep her students strong and flexible and enhance their quality of life. Classes are designed to be inclusive for all levels to enjoy with both adaptive and challenging exercise movement in a fun and friendly setting. A popular instructor with a loyal following, she has been teaching for the City of San Ramon for over 12 years.

Susan Green (Yoga)
Susan has been exercising in one way or another her whole life. She danced and tumbled as a child, practiced Tae Kwon Do in college and then built a career in fitness/wellness that began in the early 1990’s. Susan has always loved to move and sweat, but when she found yoga, she discovered something different, something more, something amazing—an invitation to connect more deeply and authentically with “self”. Yoga invites us to listen to our mind, body and soul…to trust our hearts and follow our intuition. For Susan, yoga is a life journey, and she cherishes the opportunity to share this journey with others. Susan is a registered (RYT-200) yoga teacher, certified group fitness instructor and certified integrative nutrition coach. She holds certifications from The American Council on Exercise, It’s Yoga Kids, Yoga for the Special Child, The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is currently enrolled in the School of Applied Functional Medicine.  

Deb Saravia  (Dance Fusion & Ballet) 
Debbie Saravia has been dancing and choreographing in San Francisco and the East Bay for over 48 years and is committed to bringing quality and affordable adult dance classes to the Tri-Valley. Her background in dance is Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Contemporary and has been teaching locally for over 20 years.  Not only is Debbie an experienced dancer and teacher, she is a Shellie Award nominated choreographer, the Co-Artistic Director of San Ramon's resident dance troupe Jumpin' at the Sun Dance Company and an officer with the San Ramon Arts Foundation.
