Utility Box Public Art Project

The Utility Box Public Art Program enables artists to create works of art that contribute to the vitality and attractiveness of the streetscape and community, foster civic pride and community identity, and bring art to unexpected places. Utility Box Art programs are popular throughout the country as a cost effective way to successfully bring public art to City Streets by using blank traffic signal control boxes as canvases to become art.

Phase 1

Phase 1 of the Utility Box Program consisted of five boxes along Crow Canyon Road. The boxes were completed by August 2018.

Phase 2

Phase 2 of the Utility Box Project consisted of five utility boxes along San Ramon Valley Blvd, Crow Canyon Road and Camino Ramon. This phase was completed in December 2019.

The San Ramon Arts Foundation is a proud sponsor of the Utility Box Public Art Project.
