Climate Action Plan Update: Public Comment Period Closes Today at 5 p.m.

The Public Review Draft of San Ramon's updated Climate Action Plan (CAP) and associated background documents are available for a 30-day public review and comment period that closes today (Thursday, May 15, 2025) at 5 p.m.

Ultimately, the City Council will consider the public comments to the CAP Update Public Review Draft and adoption of the draft CAP Update at a City Council public meeting, tentatively scheduled for June 10, 2025.


Sign of Hope: Dedication of Park Signage for National Mental Health Hotline

Residents are invited to the Sign of Hope event today (Thursday, May 15) at 5 p.m. at San Ramon Central Park (12501 Alcosta Blvd, San Ramon CA 94583).

At this event, the Leadership San Ramon Valley class of 2025 will unveil new signage in parks designed to bring awareness to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Resource tables will provide valuable information, and elected officials will speak on this important topic.

FY26 Budget Update: May 13 City Council Meeting Recording Available
Next Public Meeting on Budget: Tuesday, May 27 at 7 p.m.

FY26 Budget Process

The City of San Ramon's budget process is nearly complete.

For the last several months, the City has been developing the operating budget for Fiscal Year 2025/26 (FY26), which begins on July 1, 2025 and ends on June 30, 2026.

Thelatest step in the Budget Process took place at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 13

The May 13 Preliminary Budget Presentation covered:

  • General Fund Highlights
    • Fiscal Sustainability Summary
    • Projected Fund Balance / Reserve Policy
  • All Funds Highlights
  • Staffing Review
  • Climate Action Plan Update
  • FY26 Capital Budget

The recording is now available to watch on the City website and YouTube channel (item begins at 2:24:45).

FY26 Budget at City Council Meeting
Tuesday, May 27 at 7 p.m.

The final step of the Budget Processwill take place as part of the regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 27 at 7 p.m. at San Ramon City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon CA 94583).

The May 27 Proposed Budget Presentation will incorporate any requested changes provided by the City Council at the May 13 meeting, and will recommend adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025/26 Proposed Budget by resolution.

This meeting is open to the public and will include time for public comment.

The agenda with full details will be posted 72 hours ahead of the meeting at sanramon.ca.gov/meeting

The meeting will also be streamed live on the City's YouTube channel, and a recording will be available to watch afterward.

Pet Clinic

Contra Costa Animal Services is offering a FREE Pet Vaccination & Microchip Clinic in San Ramon on Sunday, May 18 for Contra Costa County residents! The event takes place at San Ramon City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon, CA 94583) beginning at 9 a.m.

The event includes free Rabies and DHPP vaccines for dogs, and free Rabies and FVRCP vaccines for cats. Both dogs and cats are also eligible for free microchips.

Joybound People & Pets will be onsite offering free pet food and flea prevention while supplies last.

No appointments are necessary, and services will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join the City of San Ramon as we honor fallen service members on Memorial Day at Memorial Park. The Memorial Program includes live patriotic music, speeches from local officials and veterans' groups, and acknowledgement of fallen service members and veterans in attendance.  

A Commemorative Field of Flags will be located at San Ramon Memorial Park (5001 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon CA, 94583) on the lawn during the program. Attached to each flag will be a tag with the service member's information you provide. You may complete a flag on-site at the Memorial Day Program starting at 8:30 am; or complete the Flag Request Form below to have a flag placed by our staff members.

Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) + Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training
Pre-Registration Open for May, August & September Sessions

San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is pleased to offer upcoming Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Trainings. 

Pre-registration is now open for May, August and September classes!

Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP)
May 28, Aug 27 or Sep 24
6–9 p.m. (3-Hour Class)

What do you personally need in your Emergency Preparedness Kit? Have you wanted to start a kit or create an emergency plan, but have not found the motivation? It's time to find out what YOU need to respond in a disaster situation and be ready.

PEP is designed and intended for individuals and families (ages 10-110) to learn the importance of personal and home disaster preparedness, and how to survive after a major emergency. The scope of this class will prepare the individual, their home, and their family with the information, supplies, and skills needed to be self-sufficient for 7+ days in a disaster.

During this FREE PEP class, participants will learn:

● What to do before, during and after a major emergency
● Hazard Mitigation + Utility Control
● Personal and Family Emergency Supplies
● Staying Calm amidst the Chaos

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the knowledge and the resources to create a home emergency plan, build an emergency kit with supplies, and complete basic emergency response tasks in and around their home.

Aug 16, 17 & 23 (8 a.m.–5:30 p.m.)
or Sep 20, 21 & 27 (8 a.m.–5:30 p.m.)

TheCommunity Emergency Response Team (CERT)program educates and prepares participants to actively respond in the event of a disaster that may impact our area.

CERT is designed and intended for participants to learn basic disaster response skills and how to use these skills to help themselves, their neighbors, and their broader community in a time of need when first responders may be overwhelmed.

During this FREE hands-on course, CERT trainees will learn:

● Disaster Preparedness
● Fire Safety
● Disaster Medical Operations and Triage
● Light Search and Rescue
● Team Organization
● Disaster Psychology
● Incident Command System

Upon completion of the program, CERT members will have the opportunity to participate in periodic neighborhood areaactivities and ongoing training and events to leverage and refresh the skills learned in the course now and into the future.
