On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, neighborhoods throughout San Ramon are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “39th Annual National Night Out” crime/drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the San Ramon Police Department and your Neighborhood Watch Group, will involve over 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world. In all, over 38 million neighbors are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out Against Crime” on August 2nd.

From 5:30 to 9:00PM, on August 2nd, residents in neighborhoods throughout San Ramon are asked to lock your doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outdoors on porches, lawns, and front steps, with neighbors, and police officers. Many of our Neighborhood Watch groups are planning special events, such as pot-lucks, block parties, ice cream socials, and the like. As mentioned, San Ramon Police Department representatives will be visiting the registered neighborhoods during that time, helping you light up the city.
Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 2 at 5:30PM. If you plan to have something special, you have to register no later than Monday, July 25, 2022, so we can be sure you are on our list to stop by. If you have any questions as to how you can help light up San Ramon, please direct them to Administrative Coordinator Theresa Sanchez at 925-973-2740 or [email protected] .
