Miss Christie

Better known around San Ramon as Miss Christie, has been studying dance (all types) since the age of 3. She has danced in three, very different, dance companies and performed in shows such as Once Upon A Mattress, Anything Goes, Music Man and The Boyfriend. She has also done various choreography for professional singers, dancers, bodybuilders, cheerleaders, and for two Olympics (where they won 2 gold medals)! She's been teaching ballet, tap, and jazz for 38 years! The last 28 years for the City of San Ramon.

Program

Ballerinas

Classes build upon the previous years’ experience and prepare children for the next level. Children are expected to continue in the same class level for the school year. Miss Christie teaches at the San Ramon Community Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Miss Christie’s Annual Dance Recital will be held on Sat May 30, 2020 at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center and requires students to be enrolled in the full Winter/Spring session.

Miss Christie's Dress Code

Ballet Attire:

Pre-Ballet & Pre-Ballet Continuation - light pink leotards and light pink tights.
Ballet I & Ballet II - light blue leotards and light pink tights.
Ballet III - black leotards and light pink tights.

Tights are to be worn even on hot days.
Please do not wear skirts or a tutu in class. They can get in the way when I am checking for proper body alignment and younger students tend to be distracted by them
Ballet Slippers - pink slippers. After adjusting the strings, tuck them inside.
Hair - Please pull hair back, in a bun, a ponytail, or a braid.
Boys & Young Men - black tights, white T-shirts, and white or black ballet shoes.

Jazz:

Attire - Leotards and tights or tight fitting stretchable clothing. NO baggy pants or shirts.
Shoes - Black jazz shoes or black ballet slippers.
Hair - Please pull hair back into a bun, a ponytail, or a braid.

Tap:

Attire - Anything goes!
Tap I & Tap II - Tap shoes- take the ties off and replace them with a hair twist ties that have a ball on each loop. Ask me!
Tap III & Tap IV - Tap shoes with adjustable screws on taps.

All Dance shoes, tap, jazz and ballet, should never be worn outside! Another tip, please put your child's name on his/her dance shoes.
