The City of San Ramon has launched a planning process for its new Trails Master Plan, and is seeking input from the San Ramon community.
A public survey on trail use, along with potential improvements, is open through July 15, and the public feedback will be used in developing recommendations later this summer.
San Ramon is committed to creating and maintaining a system of trails and open space that uplifts the community and creates opportunity for recreational access throughout the area.
The purpose of this Trails Master Plan is to identify and prioritize connections to enhance and complete the existing trail, system as well as explore opportunities as the needs of the community grow. This plan will help to guide San Ramon’s trail system with best management practices and a vision for the future.
Project goals include:
- Supporting family-friendly recreation opportunities
- Creating a long-term vision for San Ramon’s trail system
- Improving upon existing and future trail conditions
San Ramon’s existing trail system includes 46 miles of public trails, 18 miles of access roads, and 14 miles of non-city trails, intertwined through a variety of developed areas and open space.
In addition to collecting survey responses online, City representatives will be attending various community events in June and July to collect additional input from residents, including Fun on the Farm, Run San Ramon and the 4th of July concert, the Dive-In Movie on July 11 at the San Ramon Olympic Pool, and the summer concert at Central Park on July 13.
