Now Open: City Council Candidate Filing Period
Closes Friday, August 7 at 5 p.m.
A General Election will take place on November 3, 2026.
City of San Ramon positions open for the upcoming election are:
- Mayor
- Councilmember District 2
- Councilmember District 4
The period to file nomination papers opened on July 13, 2026 and ends on August 7, 2026 at 5 p.m.
If applicable, the extended nomination period will close on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Now Open: Critter Crossroads Park

It's official—Critter Crossroads Park, located at 1045 S. Monarch Road, is officially open for celebrating, playing, and making memories!
Thank you to everyone who joined us on July 15 to celebrate this beautiful new community space.
The reservable picnic area is open for reservations. It's the perfect place for birthdays, reunions, and get-togethers with grills, restrooms, two playgrounds, built-in cornhole boards and ping pong tables, sports fields and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.

Applications Open: Community Planning Academy 2026
FREE 4-Session Class

San Ramon’s Community Development Department will host the 2026 Community Planning Academy on Monday evenings from September 14 – October 5 at City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon 94583). Sessions run from 6:30–9 p.m.
This four-session program introduces residents to how and why cities plan, how planning shapes San Ramon’s growth and character, and how the land use and development review process works. The Academy is designed to help community members better understand the policies, tools, and decision making that guide the city’s future.
Graduates will be recognized at a future City Council meeting.
The program is free and open to San Ramon residents aged 18 and older, but space is limited. Learn more and apply by Friday, July 31 at the link below:

The City of San Ramon is currently accepting applications for its next San Ramon Poet Laureate, serving a term from October 2026 to September 2028. The Poet Laureate is responsible for serving as a public advocate for the appreciation and advancement of the literary arts, particularly poetry in the City of San Ramon.
If you're passionate about poetry and inspiring others through the literary arts, this is your opportunity to represent our community by creating and sharing poetry at civic events, workshops, and special occasions.
Applicants will only be considered who are 18 years and older and live or work in San Ramon.

Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) Class

San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is pleased to offerPersonal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) Classesevery month in 2026!
What do you personally need in your Emergency Preparedness Kit? Have you wanted to start a kit or create an emergency plan, but have not found the motivation? It's time to find out what YOU need to be ready and respond in a disaster situation.
PEP is designed for individuals and families (ages 10–110) to learn the importance ofpersonal and homedisaster preparedness, and how to survive after a major emergency. This class will preparethe individual, their home and their familywith the information, supplies and skills needed to be self-sufficient for 7+ days in a disaster.
During this FREE Class, participants will learn:
- What to do before, during and after a major emergency
- Hazard Mitigation and Utility Control
- Personal and Family Emergency Supplies
- Staying Calm Amid Chaos
Upon completion of the program, participants will have the knowledge and resources to create a home emergency plan, build an emergency kit with supplies, and complete basic emergency response tasks in and around their home.

Dive-in Movie: How to Train Your Dragon (Live Action)

San Ramon Olympic Pool
All ages; $2 per person
Dive-In Movies are a fun time to hang out at the pool and watch a great movie. Bring your friends and family to the San Ramon Olympic Pool (9900 Broadmoor Drive, San Ramon, CA 94583) on Friday, August 7 and enjoyRecreation Swim starting at 7 p.m. Once the sun starts to go down, the pool will close for a short portion of time so it can be transitioned for the movie. Swimmers will be invited back into the pool to float and enjoy the movie in the water, which will begin at 8:10 p.m.
If watching from the deck, be sure to remember your chair and blankets!
