Central Park Scavenger Hunt:
Help Sam the Crow Get Ready for Camp!
Instead of a traditional camp fair, camp staff have created a family friendly scavenger hunt throughout Central Park. Help Sam the Crow get ready for camp, while you learn about all the fun planned for Summer 2021! See the directions below to get started.
When: April 2-April 11
Where: Find hidden clues and fun challenges throughout Central Park
Cost: Free to participate!
Scavenger Hunt Game Directions
This is a free drop-in event that will take place at Central Park beginning at 12pm April 2 - 5pm April 11.
-Participation will require you to be present at Central Park, located at 12501 Alcosta Blvd.
-You may begin the activity at any point in Central Park at your leisure during the indicated dates and times.
-Children should be accompanied by an adult. As a reminder, the park is open dawn – dusk.
-Only 1 device (iPhone, iPad, or Android) with data is required to participate in the event.
-You are identified in the game by your "team name."
Lets get started!
Step 1: To participate, first click this link to register for the hunt. Takes about 1-2 minutes.
-It is important to FIRST click the link and complete registration, THEN download the Scavr app. Following this sequence will automatically upload the Central Park Scavenger Hunt onto your app, once downloaded (next step).
Step 2: Download the Scavr app at the Apple Store for iPhone or GooglePlay for Android.
-Once the app is downloaded, sign in.
-The Central Par Scavenger Hunt should appear in "My Hunts."
Lets start playing!
Step 3: The Scavr app contains 12 fun challenges to help Sam the Crow get Ready for Camp. Each challenge has two parts.
-First: A park location clue. This clue will direct you where to go to find one of the twelve items Sam the Crow needs to get ready for camp (backpack, water bottle, etc.).
-Second: Once the clue is found, use your smart device to scan the QR code. Then complete the challenge. Challenges will be one of three categories: video, photo or password.
Example of a Challenge:
Location: Help Sam find his swim Suit, he thinks he left it in a place filled with Roses.

Challenge: Hey Sam, are you here to sign up for camp? We know how much you like to swim, and love to also like to play tennis.
Campers- Using the Scavr app take a video of yourself acting like the lifeguards do, at the pool.
Parents- Using the QR Code, check out all the cool aquatics camps we have this summer.
(Answer: upload a short video clip of camper "acting like a lifeguard/")
Step 4: Click on a challenge and happy hunting!
- Points are awarded for successfully completing missions.
- Check out the leader board to see where you stack up against others in the hunt.
-Everyone receives the same missions, but they may appear in different orders to assist with social distancing.
Step 5: The first 50 participants to complete all missions will receive a San Ramon Summer Camp SWAG bag with camp goodies. While supplies last.
- Limit: 1 SWAG bag per child, only (sorry adults).
- Please contact Recreation Coordinator, Andrew Mendes, to claim your SWAG Bag at amendes@sanramon.ca.gov.
- Please limit participation to your social bubbles and adhere to state and county social distancing guidelines.
