Forest Home Farms Historic Park Group Tours
Perfect For Scouts And Birthday Parties
To request a tour, complete this form and email ForestHomeFarms@sanramon.ca.gov, or call 925-973-3284.
Please make requests at least 2 weeks in advance. Tours are led by volunteer docents, based on their availability. All tours are approximately 45 minutes in length and include hands-on activities (for children). Rates are offered per group and equal about $7 per participant
Please note, this is a Historic Park with Historic buildings. The property is 16-acres and most tours require some level of walking or other ambulation. Not all areas are universally accessible. Please email or call to discuss possible accommodations.
Nature Exploring (Ages 2+) – learn about the plants and trees that reside at Forest Home Farms through your 5 senses! Includes a story time, viewing the animals, and playing with wool.
Dig & Grow (Ages 4+) - Come have an adventure in our organic garden! Learn about the principles of organic gardening, composting, how the animals help the garden, recycling, and the role of bees in the garden. This tour will include garden chores and fresh vegetable tastings, when available.
Around the Farm (Ages 7+) – visit the Garage Museum to learn about household chores of long ago. Learn how butter was made, view the kitchen tools and discover chores for farm kids. Visit the Meat House, the Boone House and the Tractor Museum.
Scout Badge(s) – a program may be tailored to meet the requirements of the badge.
Glass House (Adults) - Take a tour of this two-story Victorian Italianate home and learn the history of the Glass Family, their legacy, and famous connections!
Behind the Scenes with Tractors (Adults) – come learn all about tractors! Take a behind-the-scenes look at the tractor restoration process. Includes a walking tour of the tractor museum and a look inside the machine shop. Tours available on Tuesdays & Thursday’s only.
All About Forest Home Farms (Adults) – Learn about the history of this 16-acre property and how it came to be on the National Register of Historic Places. This tour includes a walk around the property, history on various outbuildings, and tours inside such spaces as the meat locker, tractor museum, and restored 1850s barn.
