The City of San Ramon has implemented a new business and development processing and tracking system.
Submit your business license and/or permit application online.
Once you have registered you can “Apply” for a business license or permit.
Carefully choose the type of permit you are applying for by scrolling to the permit you want to apply for. Once you submit an application we cannot change the permit type so choose carefully.
Follow the submittal process and submit your project.

Building and Safety Services promotes health and safety in the construction and maintenance of buildings and structures, and the maintenance of property through enforcement of building codes, conservation standards, regulations, and ordinances.
THE BUILDING DIVISION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Monitoring and inspection of projects in all phases of construction performed by residents and contractors.
- Review and issuance of building permits for construction of buildings, alterations, and accessory structures. This work includes all work not within the public right-of-way.
- Code Enforcement: The division is charged with the enforcement of the City of San Ramon Municipal and Zoning Ordinances

Directions: Take Bollinger Canyon exit off I680. Head east. At the 3rd light, turn left into the City Hall parking lot.
