Friday Foreign Film Series 2020

The 2020 San Ramon Friday Foreign Film Series

Did you know the Friday Foreign Film Series has brought different cultural films from around the world to San Ramon’s own unique theatre setting  the last six years! This international series brings award-winning films to the Front Row Theater each winter. A new group of five films are selected annually to give the audience a diverse selection of countries, struggles, themes, and thought provoking film plots.

Each Friday film is moderated by a local film enthusiast, cultural representative or subject matter expert who gives a brief introduction to the film and then leads an engaging discussion afterwords. Audience discussions provide an opportunity for people to connect with their fellow movie-goers, share their perspectives, and better understand the film topics. The film series has a large segment of return attendees, so in addition to regular tickets at $10, a season ticket option is also offered at $45.

This Foreign Film Season kicked off January 10 at the Front Row Theater with the award-winning film Shoplifters to a full house of movie enthusiasts. This first film of the series had a sold-out audience, comprised of many returning patrons. The Intouchables, a touching film about a quadriplegic aristocrat and his unlikely caretaker played on January 24.  The series of five films will continue on select Fridays through February in a lead up to awards season.
