New City Hall photography Exhibit Abstract in Nature – Anita Sagastegui

New City Hall Photography Exhibit

Anita Sagastegui is a fine arts photographer whose work is guided by a sense of play and curiosity. In addition to practicing photography, Anita is a mixed media artist and an arts educator (K-8th) with an MA in Art Education. She designs interdisciplinary curriculum to promote deep, lasting understanding of concepts, ideas, processes and techniques while guiding students to cultivate visual literacy. An advocate for the arts, Anita also serves on the Walnut Creek Arts Commission.

Featured in this exhibit are images from two ongoing series: Abstract in Nature, which explores the abstract possibilities of the flora seen at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers; and Abstracts, images born of playing with light, line and color. While at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers, Anita noticed the way the light filters in through the greenhouse and alights on the plants, giving way to incredible effects of line and color that can form very interesting abstracts.

These images and more can be also be seen on

Anita Sagastegui’s exhibit is on display at City Hall until February 28th, 2020.
The reception will take place on Friday, January 24th, 2020 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
