
Local Artist Glen Schofield Featured in City Hall
Glen
Schofield is currently exhibiting his artwork inside San Ramon City Hall through
the end of August. His exhibit features over 54 pieces of his artwork and
showcases three different artistic styles including, realistic landscapes and seascapes painted on canvas including the San
Ramon Hills, a pop art style with images like donuts and animals and his black
and white collection with ink on paper and canvas of iconic figures. Glen’s
work is engaging which draws viewers of all ages to stop and admire his work. His portrait’s capture the essence of the
personality’s he draws whether he is drawing the Pope or a movie star or a
politician the viewer gets a glimpse of Glen’s interpretation of their
personality. With well over 400 pieces in his collection, he is excited to
bring a portion of his work to San Ramon City Hall to share with his home town.
The City Hall Gallery is open Monday through Friday 8:30am –
5:00pm and during City Council and Commission meetings.
Glen has always been an
artist and as such received an assignment for a video game cover which lead him
down a new artistic path. Over the past 25 years, Glen has been creating,
directing, Art Directing and designing video games. He co-founded Sledgehammer
Games in 2009, an Activision Studio, creating all of the Call of Duty games. To
date, his games have made over $4 billion in revenue. Throughout his career,
Glen has been drawing and painting his own work almost every day. It’s a
passion that drives him to create art and evolve as an artist. Over the past 10
years he has taught himself to draw with both hands. As a creative professional
for 35 years, Glen has won awards, written articles, done talks worldwide, been
in shows, on TV, created art for some of the largest corporations and has been
recognized for his creative career in many ways.
Glen is currently the Chief
Executive Officer of Striking Distance Studios, a new game development studio.
Most recently they’ve announced leasing 25,000 square feet at Bishop Ranch for
their new headquarters.
He has been happily married
for 25 years, has three children, and lives in San Ramon.
