Registration will open to non-residents on Monday, November 28.

Fall Jazz Concert: Lady K and the Kings of Swing
Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m.
Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center

Lady K and the Kings of Swing 2022

Lady K and the Kings of Swing is a 17-piece, Frank Sinatra-style big band recreating the sounds of Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Count Basie, George Gershwin, Stan Kenton and more. Led by saxophonist Kaye Leedham, the band features powerhouse performers, including Grammy Nominee vocalist Carla Helmbrecht, and many of the Bay Area’s leading jazz musicians.

The band’s arrangements have a slightly modern twist on the classics, which make performances exciting, contemporary and fun for music lovers of all ages! The concert will provide an exciting window into live music, and feature Q&A with the artists.

The performance takes place on Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center (10550 Albion Road). Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth

Thanksgiving Week: Modified Garbage Collection Schedule

ACI

ACI of San Ramon will operate on a modified garbage collection schedule for the week of November 21:

  • If your regular collection day is Thursday, 11/24, your service will be Friday, 11/25
  • If your regular collection day is Friday, 11/25, your service will be Saturday, 11/26

Help Us Stuff the Cruiser for Toys for Tots!
Thursday, December 1 from noon–2 p.m.
San Ramon City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Rd)

Stuff the Cruiser 2022

The City of San Ramon will host a special Stuff the Cruiser event as part of the Toys for Tots holiday toy drive on Thursday, December 1 from noon–2 p.m. A San Ramon Police patrol car will be outside City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road) for residents to fill with new, unwrapped toys for ages 0–18!

Toys for Tots 2022

The 2022 Toys for Tots holiday toy drive is taking place now through Monday, December 12!

Donations of new, unwrapped toys for ages 0–18 (toys for teens are especially needed!) can be contributed at the following locations:

  • San Ramon City Hall
    7000 Bollinger Canyon Road

  • San Ramon Community Center
    12501 Alcosta Blvd

  • Alcosta Senior and Community Center
    9300 Alcosta Blvd

  • San Ramon Service Center
    5000 Crow Canyon Road

  • Public Safety Complex
    2401 Crow Canyon Road

Dropoff sites are open Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.

In addition, toy donations can be made at the Community Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 3 from 4–6 p.m. at the City Hall Rotunda & Central Park Meadow—see below for more details.

Saturday, December 3: Bah Humbug Run

Bah Humbug

Start the holiday season off with a healthy fun run or walk through San Ramon. This event is great for families and children!

The Kids’ Dash is for children ages 3–12. Kids will dash through the 1K course and conclude at the main finish line in front of the San Ramon Community Center. Children will be grouped by ages 3–6, 7–9 and 10–12.

All participants will receive a long-sleeved holiday t-shirt and the famous Bah Humbug! ornament.

Saturday, December 3: Community Tree Lighting
4–6 p.m. at City Hall Rotunda & Central Park Meadow

Holiday Tree Lighting 2022

Join the City of San Ramon for the Community Tree Lighting event on Saturday, December 3 from 4–6 p.m. at the City Hall Rotunda (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road) and Central Park Meadow!

Festive entertainment, holiday crafts, tasty treats, and fun photo opportunities will lead up to the lighting of the City Tree in Central Park Meadow. Live entertainment will be provided by Dougherty Valley High School Choir, the San Ramon Community Chorus, Studio 8 Dance Academy, Olympia Fields Brass Band, and Santa!

At this event, residents can also donate to the City of San Ramon's Toys for Tots holiday toy drive, by bringing new, unwrapped gifts for ages 0–18.

Reminder: Sandbag Stations Available

Sandbag Stations

Rain has arrived, and sand and sandbags are now available for residents to use at the following sites:

  • San Ramon Central Park (12501 Alcosta Blvd)
    Sandbag station located along the Acosta Boulevard main entrance

  • Athan Downs Park (2975 Montevideo Drive)
    Sandbag station located on Montevideo Drive; nearest cross street is Davona Drive

  • San Ramon Sports Park in Dougherty Valley (5261 Sherwood Way)
    Sandbag station is located on Sherwood Way; the nearest cross street is East Branch Parkway

The locations are marked with blue “Sandbag Station” signs inside the above-mentioned parking lots.

Sandbag stations are self-monitored; residents must bring their own shovel to fill the bags.

Reminder: Street Sweeping Now 4x Monthly Through January 2023

Leaf Season 2022

San Ramon public streets will be swept four times monthly through January 20, 2023.

Please avoid parking on the street on your scheduled street sweeping day if possible.

Apply Today: Real ID Requirements Begin May 3, 2023

Real ID

Beginning May 3, 2023, a REAL ID will be required to board domestic flights and visit secure federal facilities such as military bases or courthouses. A California-issued REAL ID driver’s license or identification card meets these new requirements, and is marked with a gold bear and star.

Applying for a REAL ID requires proof of identity, California residency, and a trip to a DMV office. Provide Social Security number on REAL ID application (exceptions may apply).

Wait times are expected to increase as the deadline approaches, so California residents are encouraged to apply now to avoid lines, and upgrade to the REAL ID at no extra cost.
