San Ramon Planning Commission Recruitment

 Planning Commission Applications

The City of San Ramon is currently recruiting for 1 Regular Member for the San Ramon Planning Commission, for a term to end in June 2027.

The Planning Commission advises the City Council on land use matters related to growth and development. The Planning Commission provides ongoing input on the provision and delivery of carrying out the General Plan.

The Planning Commission meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month, with additional meetings scheduled as necessary.

Applications are due Sunday, March 19 at 11:59 p.m.

Registration Open for Spring & Summer Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons 2023

It's time for swim lessons! Learn to swim in a fun and safe environment close to home at the San Ramon Olympic Pool (9900 Broadmoor Drive) or Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center (10550 Albion Road).

Lessons are available for all ages, in group or private lessons.

Spring Fashion Show and Tea 2023

Welcome the spring season with an afternoon of fashion, food, and fun for all ages! There is still time to register and attend the Spring Fashion Show & Tea on Saturday, April 1.

Fabulous door prizes and opportunity drawings will be included. Don't miss this amazing community event benefiting the San Ramon Senior Center.

Tickets are $25 each through Friday, March 17, then $30 until March 24 (space pending). Registration must be done in person at the Alcosta Senior and Community Center (9300 Alcosta Blvd) during business hours (Mon–Fri, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.).

Arts Summit

The community is invited to participate in the San Ramon Arts Summit on Thursday, March 23 from 5–7 p.m. at the San Ramon Community Center (12501 Alcosta Blvd). The San Ramon Arts Summit is a gathering of the arts community to develop a vision for arts in San Ramon. We are inviting artists, teachers, students, business owners, arts patrons, and arts stakeholders to this event.

At the Arts Summit, we will hear from some of our local arts leaders and provide opportunities to discuss topics in small groups that are of interest to you. Your feedback in these discussions will impact the future of arts in San Ramon. Please be prepared to participate and share your ideas.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by Friday, March 17 at the link below. When you RSVP, you will be asked a few questions that will help direct the conversations at the Arts Summit.

St Patrick's Day Concert 2023

The San Ramon Community Chorus is performing a free St. Patrick's Day Concert on Friday, March 17 at 7 p.m. at the Alcosta Senior & Community Center (9300 Alcosta Blvd).

This annual show will also feature performances by the McBride School of Irish Dance. We hope to see you there!

San Ramon Poet Laureate Jenyth Jo invites you to celebrate World Poetry Day on Monday, March 20 at an open mic event from 6–7 p.m. inside the Terrace Room at the San Ramon Community Center (12501 Alcosta Blvd).

Friday Foreign Film Series: Salaam Bombay!

Salaam Bombay!

The San Ramon Arts Foundation is hosting their next Friday Foreign Film on Friday, March 24 featuring Salaam Bombay! From acclaimed director Mira Nair, Salaam Bombay! follows Krishna, an 11-year old boy who sets fire to his older brother's motor bike as retaliation for being constantly bullied. To pay for the bike, Krishna is sent to a traveling circus, but soon winds up in the streets of Bombay's poorest slums. Salaam Bombay!  is the winner of the Audience Award at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival, and the second film from India to be nominated for Best International Feature at the Academy Awards.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center (10550 Albion Road).

Tickets are $10 and available at SanRamonPerformingArts.com or the Box Office.

The movie is not rated.


Middle School Teen Center Registration Opens Monday, March 27

The Middle School Teen Centers provide a safe, supervised place on campus after school. Registration for the 2023–2024 school year begins on Monday, March 27.

Street Smarts Video Contest: Submissions Open
Submission Deadline: Monday, April 3 at 4 p.m.

Street Smarts Video Contest

Submissions are open for the annual Street Smarts "Be Reel!" Video Contest, which offers students in grades 6–12 the opportunity to educate the community on traffic safety issues through original videos.

Prizes include up to $500 in Amazon gift cards, and video submissions will be shared online and presented at San Ramon Valley Elementary and Middle School Traffic Safety Education Assemblies.

Submissions are due by Monday, April 3 at 4 p.m.
