Summer Concert in the Park: VDAZE
Sunday, August 1 at 5:30 p.m.

VDAZE

San Ramon's popular Summer Concert Series continues with VDAZE (pictured) this Sunday, August 1 at the Central Park Amphitheater (12501 Alcosta Blvd). Join friends and family for an evening of the most loved Bollywood music beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Admission is free; food from Crazy Empanadas and Golden Gate Gyro, wine, beer, soda, and water will be available for purchase.

Bring a blanket or low-back lawn chair and be ready to rock the night away!

Please be considerate and set up shade tents and umbrellas at the top of the hill to avoid impeding the view of others.

The Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the City of San Ramon, Chevron, and the San Ramon Arts Foundation. Concerts run weekly on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. through August 8 at the Central Park Amphitheater (12501 Alcosta Blvd), featuring some of the Bay Area’s best live bands.

Live City Update: Drought Conditions and Water Conservation
Fri, July 30 at 9 a.m.

City Update

San Ramon’s next City Update will be streamed live on YouTube on Friday, July 30 at 9 a.m., with a focus on Drought Conditions and Water Conservation. Following an introduction by Mayor Hudson, a panel of representatives Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) and East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) will share information for the community.

Guests include Jan Lee, DSRSD Assistant General Manager; Alice Towey, Manager of Water Conservation for EMBUD; Charles Bohlig, Water Conservation Supervisor for EBMUD; and EMBUD Director John Coleman.

Residents can submit questions by emailing [email protected] and including “City Update” in the subject line. Guests will answer as many questions as time allows.

All City Updates will be recorded and available to watch on the City’s website and YouTube channel following the live event.

Dive-In Movie: Jumanji: The Next Level

What is the best way to enjoy a movie during the summer? It's poolside with friends and family! Free Recreation swim starts at 7 p.m., so be sure to bring your pool floats and enjoy everything the pools have to offer.

Once the sun starts to go down, settle into your deck chair, get cozy on your blanket, or watch the movie from the pool, beginning at 8:15 p.m. It’s sure to be a splashin' good time!

In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back, but the game has changed. As they return to rescue one of their own, the players brave parts unknown and face extreme challenges to escape the world's most dangerous game. Rated PG-13. Runtime: 2 hours, 3 mins.

Call for Artists: "Upcycle Your HeART Out"

Upcycle Your HeART Out

Upcycle Your HeART Out, a new temporary public art program from the City of San Ramon, is seeking applications for artists age 16 and older.

Artists that are selected will be given a donated election sign, which will already be primed and painted solid white. Artists will then be able to upcycle the sign with their own original artwork design (artwork pictured above by Chenmiao Shi). Completed art signs will then be on display for an outdoor gallery exhibit.

Citizen's Planning Academy Returns in September

Planning Academy

San Ramon’s Citizen's Planning Academy returns this fall! This free 5-week course will be held at City Hall on Monday evenings beginning September 13, offering an overview of why cities plan, how planning shapes the community, and the land use planning process—along with a weekend tour of San Ramon with an overview of developments that shape the city.

The course concludes with a Mock Planning Commission Meeting, where the participants serve as the Planning Commission, developers, and residents. Following the course, class participants will be formally recognized at a City Council meeting.

Open Space Hike: Quail Run and Village Center Loop Trails
Sat, Aug 7 at 8 a.m.

Open Space Hike Aug 7

Join the San Ramon Open Space Committee on Saturday, August 7 for a morning hike on the Quail Run and Village Center Loop Trails. Starting at the Amador Rancho Community Center (1998 Rancho Park Loop) at 8 a.m., participants will hike approximately 2.25 miles and take in the beautiful views of the ravine and surrounding neighborhoods.

The trail is almost entirely paved, so please wear appropriate footwear. Dogs are allowed and must be leashed at all times.

The walk is free, however, pre-registration is required.

Culture in the Community Celebration 2021: Performer Applications Now Open

Culture in the Community

The City of San Ramon is thrilled to be back in person for the 4th annual Culture in the Community Celebration, taking place on Sunday, October 17 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the San Ramon Community Center (12501 Alcosta Blvd).

The Culture in the Community Celebration is a community event to celebrate San Ramon's rich diversity of cultures with food, crafts, booths, music, dance, and more. Culture in the Community is fun, family-friendly, and free!

Applications are currently being accepted to participate in the event as a performer, host a booth to share your culture, and more.

Apply Now for Free Student Bus Passes

Pass2Class

Skip the traffic and save gas while getting your students to school with 511 Contra Costa's Pass2Class Program. Pass2Class (formerly known as SchoolPool and Student Transit Ticket Program) offers free bus passes to Contra Costa students at the beginning of the school year to encourage the use of bus transportation to and from school. Pass2Class reduces traffic congestion and air pollution by reducing the number of cars being driven to school.

Up to two months of rides on Tri Delta Transit, WestCAT, County Connection, or AC Transit are being offered for the 2021/2022 school year to help students as they return to in-person learning.

Mobile COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics Available by Request for Groups of 5 or More

Contra Costa workplaces and community groups looking to get vaccinated can now request a free visit from Contra Costa Health Services' mobile COVID-19 vaccine service.

If your group wants to fully enjoy the benefits of vaccination, but not everybody has had the opportunity to get a vaccine, now is a great time to schedule a visit to your location within the county from our new, no-cost mobile service.

Your group or business just needs at least five vaccine-eligible people who want to get vaccinated, but they do not have to live in Contra Costa County, and there is no upper limit to the number of people who can get a vaccine.

Use the convenient online form to request a visit or call 1-833-829-2626. CCHS will work with you to schedule a time Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., within one week of your request.
