New Alarm Registration Program

Alarm Registration Program

The City of San Ramon launched a new Alarm Registration Program on Friday, July 1, 2022.

The new alarm registration system is aimed at increasing community safety by reducing false alarms, allowing police officers to respond to emergencies and other calls for service. Each year, San Ramon officers respond to anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 false alarm calls.

Every San Ramon residence or business with an alarm system must obtain an alarm permit. Permits are free and free annual renewal is required.

Existing alarms must be registered by September 1, 2022. New residential and commercial business alarms must be registered within 30 days of installation.

Learn more about the program, see frequently asked questions (FAQ) or register your alarm at the link below. The process is simple and only takes a few minutes.
