2020 Census: Respond Today Online, by Phone or by Mail
Posted on 03/09/2020
Contra Costa County Census

The revised deadline for the 2020 Census is October 15, 2020.

The Census takes place every 10 years, and is a count of every person living in the United States. San Ramon households should respond to the Census online, by phone, or by mail.

The Census is required by the U.S. Constitution, and is important for multiple reasons:

  • Census numbers determine how many representatives each State has in Congress
  • Census information guides how almost $675 billion in Federal funding is spent in communities each year

It only takes about 10 minutes to respond to the Census online, by phone or by mail.

Check out this helpful video guide on how to respond to the Census online (this video is also available in multiple languages on the US Census Bureau YouTube channel).
