ENRICHMENT CLASSES 

 

Online Safety Workshop- NEW Presented by Kidpower. Learn skills to navigate online interactions effectively, ensuring a more enjoyable experience with fewer issues; recognize problems early; establish ‘digital distance’ by managing privacy settings; collaborate on safety plans with friends and family set clear boundaries in digital space; and develop strategies for addressing online harassment, bullying, and coercion – these skills empower a safer and more enjoyable online presence.

Planting 102 - NEW
Vegetable pests, diseases, and disorders are common issues in gardening. Pests like aphids and diseases like blight can harm plants. Nutrient deficiencies and environmental stressors may also cause disorders. ONLINE  CLASS

Online Driver Ed Class 
Ages 15 & UP: DMV allows Teens to Receive their Learner’s Permit at age 15 ½ and a License at age 16. This class is the FIRST, Required Step that must be completed. This is an online course with videos, animated driving scenarios and sample test questions. Learn the rules of the road, major causes of traffic collisions, DMV procedures and much more. A licensed instructor is available to answer any questions. Receive DMV-approved Certificate of Completion. Sign up any time. Registration is ongoing.

Virtual Course: Drivers Ed Class
This is a virtual Driver's Education class with a live instructor for ages 15½ and up. Students will enjoy a series of Driver's Education lectures including understanding the responsibilities of having a driver’s license, learning the rules of the road and accident avoidance procedures. Independent assignments will also be completed during the week. Course also includes practice questions, defensive driving movies and written test prep. Upon successful completion, students will receive a DMV-approved Certificate of Completion.

LEADERSHIP  CLASS

Leaders in Training (LIT)
Instructor: San Ramon Staff

Leadership and professionalism are two key skills young people should strive to achieve. Learn the skills needed to work a summer recreation job for the City of San Ramon. Attending the Leaders in Training spring training is the prerequisite to helping out at Summer Camp.
Participants are required to attend 4 of 5 classes weeks, to be eligible to volunteer at Summer Camp 2024.  Week 5 (May 30), 4:30 PM-7:00 PM, will be offered as a "make up class," to anyone who missed a class during weeks 1-4.

 This program gives participates the opportunity to prepare for possible future employment by including training and mentoring, training for summer camp volunteering, and guided experiences working with youth and becoming a leader.(Ages: 13-16)

Senior Leaders in Training (LIT)

Are you a returning Leader in Training? No need to retake the entire training class this spring! Returning participants can refresh their leadership knowledge and learn new skills and techniques at the one day training on May 30, 2024.

SPORTS CLASSES

Table Tennis Beginners/Intermediate 

For aspiring players with no to some experience who intend to compete in USATT-sanctioned tournaments. Students will learn counters, footwork, serves, and receive stroke and video analysis.  Ages: 10-18

  4. Walk-in and register at the Community Center at Central Park, Alcosta Senior Center, or San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Center.
