Established in 1986, the Redevelopment Agency is a governmental entity separate from the City of San Ramon, but closely related, as the City Council members serve as the governing board.  It was established to redevelop certain defined areas of the City of San Ramon.  Under State law, it is also responsible to set aside funds for affordable housing in the City.
