Yard
Trimmings Collection
Most single-family homes in
San Ramon receive a cart for the collection of yard trimmings. When
placing materials in this cart, make sure that it is placed loosely (not
packed), and that the lid is securely closed before placing the cart at
the curb for pick-up.
Place only the
following items in the yard trimmings cart:
- Grass
and weed clippings clippings
- Shrub
and tree
- Leaves
- Pruned
branches (must be 6" or less in diameter and 36" or
less in length)
It is
important not to contaminate the yard trimmings with other materials
(such as ashes, fibrous plants such as cactus and palm leaves,
poison oak debris, metal, glass, plastic, treated or painted
wood) as the material is chipped and applied directly to agricultural
land. If there is no contamination, the yard trim materials
greatly enhance the soil and improve the production on the land.
Contaminants, obviously, could cause serious problems.
You may request a second 64-gallon yard waste container
for no additional fee.
