Below are two local recycling centers that pay cash refunds for beverage containers with California Redemption Value:

Note that these redemption centers are private businesses, permitted by the State of California, and are not affiliated with the City of San Ramon.

Cardboard, Yard Trimmings, and Wood

The nearest recycling centers that accept cardboard, yard trimmings, and clean wood are the Pleasanton Transfer Station and the Walnut Creek Recycling Center. Both of these facilities charge a fee to accept yard trimmings and wood.

Recycling Drop-Off Events

The City of San Ramon conducts three temporary Recycling Drop-Off Events per year to collect:

  • Re-usable thrift store items
  • Electronic waste
  • Cardboard / Paper/ Bottles & Cans
  • Scrap metal
  • Yard trimmings / Green waste
  • Wood waste (clean, no paint, stain, or coating)
