SAN RAMON RECYCLING CENTER
PERMANENT CLOSURE

The San Ramon Recycling Center closed permanently on Saturday, August 30 at 5:00 p.m. This property will be redeveloped for mixed retail / multi-family residential uses per the Crow Canyon Specific Plan.

Thank you for recycling with us since 1992.  The City will continue to look for a new location for a the San Ramon Recycling Center, and to develop new programs to provide comparable services.  In the meantime, please continue to recycle using the existing alternatives described on this page.

What are the alternatives to the Recycling Center? Where Can I Recycle?

Curbside: San Ramon residents can recycle all of the materials accepted at the Recycling Center through San Ramon’s weekly curbside recycling program. Cardboard, paper, cans, bottles, small pieces of scrap metal, and plastic containers can all be recycled in your recycling cart. Green waste and clean wood waste can be recycled in your green waste cart. If your cardboard will not fit in your recycling cart, you can flatten it and set it out for collection next to your cart. You can also request a larger (96 gallon) recycling cart or a second green waste cart at no additional charge. Free recyclables collection services are also available to all apartment and condominium complexes in San Ramon.

On Clean-Up Days: Each single-family home in San Ramon receives 3 neighborhood clean-up days per year.

On these days you can set out oversized green waste, wood waste, scrap metal, cardboard, electronic

scrap and auto tires for recycling.

"Pay" means that the recycling center pays customers for cans and bottles "Charge" means that the recycling center charges customers to drop off wood and green waste. If a space is left blank, it means that the recycling center does not accept that material.

Visit http://www.co.contra-costa.ca.us/depart/cd/recycle/ or call 1-800-750-4096 for a more detailed listing of recycling centers by material.
