Recycling Drop-Off Events

The City of San Ramon sponsors three recycling drop-off events per year. These events are held at various locations throughout the City. Residents and businesses may drop off paper, cardboard, bottles, cans, scrap metal, and green waste for free. Free compost is also given away. The events are always two days (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Locations and exact dates are announced at least two weeks before each event using postcards, the City website, and signs. Plant trimmings, branches, prunings, grass, leaves, clean lumber Cardboard, paper, bottles & cans Scrap metal	Electronic Waste Hazardous Waste Clothing or books Household batteries and fluorescent lights Household garbage, construction debris, pressure-treated wood, stained/painted/coated wood, furniture, propane/helium tanks, car batteries, medical waste, styrofoam, mattresses, car seats, carpet, motor oil, liquids, solvents, or paints.

These materials are collected in labeled, open-top self-serve dumpsters. You must be able to place the recyclables into the dumpsters, which are approximately 5 feet tall.

FREE COMPOST

Bagged compost is given away to San Ramon residents at the recycling events. Limit of one 25 lb. bag of compost per car. While supply lasts, first come first served.
