The City of San Ramon Public Services Department, Streets Maintenance Division, maintains the City’s street sweeping zone schedule. Residential streets are swept twice a month (for example, on the first and third Tuesday of the month). You can help us keep streets clean and safe by looking up your street sweeping zone to make sure that parked vehicles and other obstructions are cleared from the streets on your sweeping day.

The street sweepers often have to go around parked cars in residential areas, missing vital portions of gutter-way/street and leaving unsightly debris that can reduce the flow of water into the storm drain system and eventually cause flooding. Another thing that you can do is make sure that you do not rake leaves or yard clippings into the gutter-way/street. Large concentrated piles of yard waste, when sucked up into the sweeper, cause the sweeper to clog and break down, which not only interrupts the sweeping schedule but which, like debris, can reduce the flow of water into the storm drain, causing blockages and eventual flooding. If we work together, we can make “clean sweeps” to ensure that the City of San Ramon continues to set a high standard of aesthetics and safety.
