Alasdair Fraser will lead the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers for an evening of spirit-filled music.  Fraser, native to the Scottish Highlands, is internationally known and loved for his own versions of Scottish music, dance and song.  He and the Fiddlers will present music from many cultures:  Spain, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Ireland – and, of course, Scotland.

Your ears – and eyes – will delight with lively reels, jigs, slow airs, stately waltzes, Gaelic songs, a jazzy tune, and dancing.   Guest artists and our own band of extraordinary young players and dancers add spice to the program.  Alasdair always finds ways include the audience as part of the performance.  This will be a special event.  Don’t miss it.

Our players come from all over California, from all over the country to share this annual celebration, to play by heart. The deep and joyful music of Alasdair Fraser's inspired solo fiddle along with the full band of 117 musicians captures the essence of springtime. The massed ranks of fiddles are joined by cellos, guitars, drums, harps, flutes, basses, piano, and bagpipes. We spent the summer absorbing the music; spent the winter distilling the arrangements and composing harmonies; and invite you to share our very best work.

Come with us on a musical journey across the world of fiddle music from northern California to Quebec, on to Ireland and Scotland, the Shetland Islands and greater Scandinavia.
