San Ramon Parks, Open Space, Trails, and Recreation Master Plan

Introduction

The City of San Ramon is home to world-class parks and recreation. Since 2000, our community has seen significant growth and change.

It is essential for us to look to the future to ensure our parks and recreation meet the needs of residents and address critical trends and issues.

San Ramon is committed to creating and maintaining a park system that meets the recreational needs of its residents and contributes to the City’s positive image. The presence of well‐designed parks and community facilities is essential to the health and well‐being of San Ramon.

The Master Plan project will guide the City as they respond to community needs and maximize access to high-quality parks and recreation opportunities that connect people with each other, nature and themselves. The Master Plan will update the City’s vision to frame the future of San Ramon’s park and recreation system so that it will thrive today and, in the future, while also providing short to mid-term strategies to address immediate needs.

This website is dedicated to the San Ramon Parks, Open Space, Trails, and Recreation Master Plan project (Master Plan). Here you’ll find everything from updates on the project, upcoming events, presentations, and opportunities to provide input.

Public Workshop for the Parks, Trails, Open Space, and Recreation Master Plan Update

Monday, September 23, 2019
6:00pm
Dougherty Station Community Center - 17011 Bollinger Canyon Road

The City of San Ramon is developing a Parks, Trails, Open Space, and Recreation Master Plan. The Master Plan will be an implementation-oriented document to guide the development, redevelopment, expansion, and enhancement of the City’s parks, open spaces, trails, recreation facilities, and recreation programs. The project will build upon the foundation set by previous parks and trails master plans and reflect the community’s values and guiding principles.
The City of San Ramon is in the process of reviewing the key concepts and priorities of the Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation Master Plan. These concepts and priorities have been created based on citizen input in 2018. This new Master Plan will establish a path forward for providing high quality, community-driven parks, trails, natural areas and outdoor recreation serving San Ramon for the next ten years. Citizen input is crucial to make sure program goals and priorities are consistent with community needs and desires. Residents are invited to provide feedback on the draft recommendations and share their thoughts on the Master Plan consultant’s findings for the City’s parks, trails, open space, and recreation system.

Master Plan Feedback Survey

Your Input is needed for the San Ramon Parks, Trails, Open Space & Recreation Master Plan Survey! The San Ramon Parks & Community Services Department is developing a Parks, Trails, Open Space, and Recreation Master Plan to guide the delivery of vibrant, healthy, livable parks and recreation for our community. A series of draft recommendations and themes for the Master Plan have been developed based on previous community input and professional assessments. The questions ask for your feedback on the draft recommendations and where you think the City should focus its efforts in providing parks, trails, open space, and recreation opportunities over the next 10 years. Your responses will help us plan for the future parks, trails, open space, and recreation programming and events in San Ramon.
