Exterior Enhancement Program
The City of San Ramon
Exterior Enhancement Rebate Program provides income eligible homeowners with
a $2000 rebate for exterior home improvements. Projects are ranked according
to their ability to improve overall appearance of the property and
neighborhood. Rebates are awarded on a competitive basis according to the
priority ranking determination by the City. The City will only reimburse
improvements that are visible from the street. The improvements could
include:

Exterior Painting
-
General exterior home repairs and
cleaning.

Improvements to building security.
-
Repairs to windows and screens.

Termite damage repair.
-
Curbs, gutters, walkways, and drainage
improvements.

Repairs or replacement of roofing and
fencing. The City will not reimburse costs for installation of a chain
link fence.

Removal of blighting conditions on
property.

Preventative landscape maintenance.
Housing Rehabilitation Minor Home
Repair Grant Program
The Housing Rehabilitation Minor Home Repair Grant Program offers income
eligible households with up to $5000 of grant assistance to perform needed
health and safety home repairs.
Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program
The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program offers incom eligible housholds with
up to $35,000 in deferred loan assistance at a 3% interest rate for home
rehabilitation efforts of a more extensive nature.
Eligibility:
1. The property owner must occupy the premises.
2. You must be current on your property taxes.
3. You cannot be in default on the mortgage.
4. You must reside in your home for one year after the work is completed.
City Services and Assistance
Home repair grants are awarded on a competitive
basis according to a priority rating determined during the initial City
inspection. City staff will work with the homeowner to determine the scope
of repair work, determine work priority for funding, the order of work
completion, prepare project specifications, complete City-provided
documentation, provide assistance in bidding process, prepare vendor
contacts and process direct payment to the contractor upon approved work
completion.

5. Exterior Paint
6. General home repair and cleanup
7. Repairs or replacement of fencing
8. Window and exterior door repair or replacement
9. Curbs, gutters, walkways and drainage improvements.
10. Removal of blighting conditions on the property.
11. Preventative landscape maintenance.
12. Handicapped accessibility modifications.
13. Seismic Strengthening
