MINUTES OF THE July 23, 2007 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of San Ramon was held July 23, 2007 at 5:05 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at City Hall, 2222 Camino Ramon, Mayor Wilson presiding. PRESENT: Councilmembers Hudson, Livingstone, Rowley, Vice Mayor Perkins and Mayor Wilson. STAFF PRESENT: City Attorney Byron Athan and City Clerk Patricia Edwards. * * * * PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Vice Mayor Perkins led the staff and Council in the pledge of allegiance. * * * * PUBLIC COMMENT The City Clerk noted that there were no requests for public comment. * * * * CLOSED SESSION The City Council met in Closed Session pursuant to Government Code § 54957 to interview applicants for the Parks and Community Services Commission. * * * * CITY COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS (#5.1) Parks and Community Services Commission Appointment. The Parks and Community Services Commission consists of seven Commissioners who serve four year terms. Appointments are made by the City Council. Mr. Thomas McNamara tendered his resignation on February 6, 2007. The City Clerk announced the vacancy for the Parks and Community Services Commission by posting notices at four City locations and on the City website. Ads were placed in the San Ramon Valley Times. Three applications were received by the June 29, 2007 deadline. Applications were received from James Dall Barley, James Eaneman, and Jeff Rudden. Mayor Wilson reported that the City Council had interviewed the three candidates. He provided voting instructions. The City Clerk tallied the votes. Mayor Wilson announced that James Eaneman was selected by the Council. Cm. Hudson’s motion to appoint James Eaneman to the Parks and Community Services Commission for a term to expire June 2008 was seconded by Cm. Livingstone and passed 5-0. * * * * There being no further business, Mayor Wilson adjourned the meeting at 6:14 p.m. Signed: Approved at the August 14, 2007 City Council meeting, 4-0; Rowley absent. |
