Happy Valley Art School

Happy Valley Pic
Children have an inherent ability for creating art. Happy Valley Art School looks at children’s concerns, their interests, their creative play, and imaginative collections, to make art lessons student-centered. The curriculum is specially designed to facilitate students’ development in the realm of design thinking, creativity, problem-solving, conceptual development, and visual storytelling.

Most of our instructors got a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Fine Art or Art Education. They are specially trained to inspire students' creativity, facilitate their self-expression, and refine their art production process. We also provide our students with the necessary technical skills and knowledge of materials. Students should gain a skill set of techniques for achieving their aesthetic goals.

Our school takes a process-oriented approach, with the focus on design principles and the process of problem-solving, rather than copying the subjects. We consult individually with each student as they work independently or collaboratively. We help students to develop their own ideas, collect references, brainstorm the relevant concepts, and explore how the concepts are conveyed through visual elements.

Michelle Keenan (Fun on the Farm Camp)

MichelleI have an extensive background in Early Childhood Education. I love being part of the community for over 11+ years. My experience is working with all ages of children from early age preschoolers to K-5 grades. In striving to provide an opportunity for social and emotional growth within the enrichment programs I offer, I have shared my passion for teaching with the City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services for over 4+years. I also have shared my love for teaching through SRVUSD and PUSD working with children in the primary ages.
In the summer months continuing to educate our youth through learning on the farm. My Farm Camp is happily offered as well through our City’s program. I host a hands-on farm camp, at Forest Farms in San Ramon, where children can enjoy learning outdoors and in a classroom that is hosted in a real barn. My passion for educating the young learners of our future is something that is truly a blessing for me.
