ROOFING REQUIREMENTS

ROOF DRAINAGE

Continuous roof drains are required on all structures and down spouts shall be continuous to an approved location of discharge, e.g., under sidewalk through curb at a minimum of one percent (1%) fall to catch basin.

All roofing materials shall be installed to comply with ICBO Evaluation reports by manufacturer.

• Inspection is required when battens and counter-battens have been installed.
• Inspection is required at completion of roofing tile installation (final).

Composition roofing materials may have two overlays. If overlaying composition shingles, the entire overhang shall be exposed to inspect for dryrot.

Asphalt and bitumen roofing materials shall not be overlaid.

Wood shakes and shingles shall be fire resistive materials. Nailing for wood shakes or shingles shall be hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel.
