The After School Enrichment classes are conveniently timed so students can attend immediately after school. Students who are attending an After School Enrichment (ASE) class should go to their ASE class location directly after school.

If your child attends the Growing Room, please send your child directly to the class or have an authorized adult sign the child out and bring them to the class. Some instructors are able to pick–up from the Growing Room by request, please see the individual course descriptions for availability. All instructors will bring children to the Growing Room at the end of class if requested.

Narrative Essay
Students will learn to write the narrative essay, which focuses on developing a student's ability to write in the first person and to follow a linear narrative structure. Students will write three- to five-paragraph essays. They also will learn how to plan, outline, and revise their essays. No class 2/13, 2/14, 2/20, 3/3, 3/6 3/7.

Story Writing
A rocket ship blasting to another planet, a detective sleuthing to crack the case, a sorcerer summoning an entire world. Students of the Story Writing class in Lekha's School of Creative Writing will learn about the genres these characters come from and how they can write stories of their own. From combining animals to create new characters to mapping out whole new worlds, Lekha's classes emphasize using the child's imagination and creativity to create new stories.

Public Speaking - Advanced Debates and Public Speaking
This is an excellent course to that builds upon the presentation and foundational debate skills in preparation of joining the competitive Debate or Speech Teams of their schools. This class is a combo course of Advanced Public Speaking and Speech Writing and Debates. Each student will learn to write a well-structured and engaging speech, along with different styles such as narrative, descriptive, cause and effect, compare and contrast, process analysis, and persuasive. In debate, students will argue on a variety of their age appropriate topics in various formats.

This program works by getting children involved in the game immediately. Specifically designed nets and color coded balls (Red, Orange, Green) created by the USTA have revolutionized the game for beginner players. Within the first hour of stepping on to the court, children are playing the game, rallying with one another, and having fun. Players gain confidence as they see immediate progress, and are enthusiastic about continuing to play and improve. Student to instructor ratio is 6:1.

Fun with Robotic Programming
Have fun learning how to program a robotic ball! Write code to make it spin, change colors, and find its way out of a maze. Students will learn the fundamentals of computer programming and will see how the commands that they issue directly control the robotic ball. All necessary equipment will be provided for use during class. The main goals of the class are to give students a fun experience, while increasing their exposure to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), the scientific method, planning, prioritization, time management, completing projects from start to finish, and organization. Students will gain an appreciation for how software and hardware work together, and will learn how to break down and analyze problems as they debug their code.
