Road Closures

The event will require the following road closures and traffic delays:

On July 4 the public can expect traffic delays and road closures related to the July 4 Star Spangled Spectacular Event planned in and around Central Park.  The event consists of a run in the morning and the fireworks at night.

The following street and lane closers have been carefully planned.  If you use these roadways regularly, please plan alternate travel routes during these times.

For the morning run, the following streets will be closed from 0800 to 1030:

  • Camino Ramon from Norris to Bollinger,
  • East bound Norris between Bishop and Alcosta,
  • North bound Alcosta from Norris to Bollinger, and
  • North bound Bishop from Norris to Sunset.

From 8:00 am to 10:30 am, the third lane from the left will be closed on Bollinger Canyon Rd from Alcosta to Camino Ramon and in both directions on Bollinger Canyon Rd from Sunset to Camino Ramon.

The fireworks display in the evening will require the following road and pedestrian trail closures and resulting traffic delays from 9 pm to 11 pm.

  • The Iron Horse Trail will be closed between Bollinger Canyon Road and Reflections Drive.
  • Bollinger Canyon Road will be closed between Alcosta Blvd. and Camino Ramon.

For those attending the events, parking is available in the following areas surrounding both events:

  • Dirt Parking Lot - located on the corner of Bollinger Canyon Road and Camino Ramon,
  • Iron Horse Middle School - 12701 Alcosta Blvd,
  • Bishop Ranch 7 on Camino Ramon,
  • Bishop Ranch 15 on the corner of Norris Canyon and Alcosta Blvd., and
  • Limited Handicap Parking  will be located in the Community Center lot off of Alcosta Blvd.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to the number of pedestrians in the area during these times this will facilitate the safe and orderly exit from the park and surrounding areas, these road and lane closures are necessary to protect public safety and insure a happy holiday experience for all.

For more ongoing traffic information tune your radio to 1610 AM, the City of San Ramon's emergency highway advisory radio system. Updates may be posted on the radio broadcasts.  During an emergency this station will broadcast information on the impact of the emergency and what residents can do.  Prior to an emergency, this station is used to broadcast road conditions for events such as the July 4 Fireworks show.

The July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular would not be possible without the generous sponsorship of KKIQ 101.7. For more information, call the City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services Department at (925) 973-3200.
